Card that inspired the cuttlebug one !!

This lovely yellow card was one of the cards that inspired the making of the green cuttlebug card.
I received this card 2 years ago from Sharon for my birthday.
She used the thin cuts daisy die from Ellison.

Cuttlebug card

This is a cuttlebug card I made for a swap on a yahoo group I belong to....

It was inspired by a card that my good friend Jenny made that can be seen here also a card that I rec from my friend Sharon for my birthday a few years back.

For the scallop circle punch I brayered Sage shadow ink onto whisper white to give a more subtle colour that blended with the original colour.

I used the SU marker in sage shadow to go down the white SU ribbon...thanks Jenny for showing us that...mind you my line was not as straight as jenny's !!

Card:- SU Sage shadow and whisper white

Ink:- SU sage shadow, sage shadow marker

Punches:- 2 1/2" scallop punch, SU scallop, 1 3/8" circle and 1 1/4" circle

Stamps:- SU Bitty blossoms,Hero Arts Friend

Acc:- Cuttlebug folder,SU white ribbon, green crystal

Cuttlebug and Brayer

I have wanted to try this out for a while and as it was raining just now I thought I would give it a go !!

You just ink up your brayer, I used SU Sage Shadow ink and once the brayer is loaded, open up your cuttlebug embossing folder. You can brayer the ink onto either side of the folder depending on the look you want.

Click on the picture to see closer, the left hand piece was done by brayering the ink onto the raised dot side of the folder. The right hand piece was done by brayering the ink onto depressed dot side of the folder.Oooooh I can see allsorts of possibilities using this technique.......and I didnt have to clean the folder as squashing it through my big shot fair cleaned all the ink off !!!! BONUS........

Now to make a card using these pieces....
