Tea Party

Hi Everyone in blogland.....

I just read this on a group I belong to and I just HAD to share ( thanks Judi )........

A Tea Party with Daddy

One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me and mybrother who is four years older than I am. I was maybe 3 and a half years oldand had just recovered from an accident in which my arm had been broken among other injuries.

Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a get-well gift and it was one of my favorite toys.

Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening newsand my brother was playing nearby in the living room when I brought Daddy a little cup of 'tea', which was just water.
After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.

Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was 'just thecutest thing!!'

My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she watches him drink it up, then she says to him,

'Did it ever occur to you that the only place that baby can reach to get water is the toilet??'...

Friend envelope treat holder

I made another one whilst I had all the things out in my room....but used a different tag for the top....see further down posts for the other tag I used.
I am trying this year to make 2 of each card I make whilst I have all the items on my desk, either 2 the same or slight variations...

Center piece

This is the center piece on the front of the envelope treat holder.

I used 2 1/2 marvy scallop punch and I added dots with choc chip marker from SU.
Then I used the SU scallop punch and punched 1 in choc chip and 1 in cameo coral...this one I then cut little slits inbetween each scallop so that the petals stood out a little, I layered these together.
Then I used the little folded flower that I had made and placed that on top.
I had already folded and mounted my flower before deciding what to do in the center....I tried a gem and a button but decided on a brad so I had to cut the wings off the back to lay it flat LOL....note to self try to decide next time BEFORE folding and sticking brad....hee hee

Stamped flowers

Stamp out your chosen flowers, this flower is from the Doodle This stamp set from SU but magenta and hero arts do similar ones as do Hobby Art in the UK
I have used SU Cameo coral and Choc chip.
They would look great stamped on dark cs with white ink, you could then add some dots or colour in...

Cut them out !

Once you have stamped the flowers in your chosen colours then cut them out......Jenny makes a much better job of this than I do, I dont know how she does it SO neatly !!

Spiders !!

Once you have cut out your flower, then curl the edges over...either use the flat edge of scissors or a pencil or your fingers or the curved edge of your bone folder...choices choices....
They should look like this....oooh reminds me of spiders !!
I think we have all used flowers like this on our cards havent we...??
The next picture just takes that one step further...

Turn over and add a pop dot

Turn the flower over after you have curled the petals and add a pop-dot, ( remember if you want to add a brad do it NOW ) LOL...then gently fold over each petal and stick down to the pop dot....

Little flower folded ready for use.

These are the little flowers finished ready to be mounted.
They will add dimension to your projects.
They would also look great on darker carstock and you could add detail like Jenny does with a white gel pen.

A few ideas I wanted to try

This little envelope treat holder idea is just SO cute dont you think....I saw it on SCS and just had to have a go....
I wanted to do the scallop punch with cut edges, also I wanted to try the neat little flower folding trick that I had seen on a blog.
So as I was short of time I decided to combine them all together.
Its an envelope that has been sealed then using the SU large tag punch you slide up the edge of your envelope and punch out the shape you will be left with a tiny edge...snip it off...do the same the other side and there you have it.
Then you decorate however your heart desires :)
Details:-
Cream envelope sealed.
Choc chip and Cameo coral cs and ink
Scallop punch and tag punch from SU
Marvy scallop 2 1/2 punch
Doodle this stamp set from SU
Terrific tags set from SU
Choc chip ribbon from SU
Choc chip marker
Brads from papermania.
Once finished you can open out then envie and stuff with little lightweight treats, irridescant shreds, sachets of bath petals...whatever you want really.
Also you can use any shaped envie to make a holder to suit your requirements.
You could also use DP and make your own envie and then cut out.
How neat is that then !!

He came home about 5pm yesterday and bless him he mumped and moaned and didnt know what to do with himself !!
He was wobbly on his back legs and tail between legs looked most bewildered.....bless...
He has 3 stitches that have to be removed next weel and a dressing that has to stay till friday...
The vet said keep him quiet....HA ... he is a border terrorist after all....no chance....
They said he would be quiet and subdued.....they dont know Leo.....

Anyhow this morning he is still uncomfy with it and wont let me go anywhere without him....he is following me all over...so I gave up and decided to sit with him until he fell asleep....I read loads of my book :)

Friendship Blooms

I received some new stamps Friday so decided to mount them and have a play :)
This set is called friendship blooms and its from SU...the card did not end up how I imagined when I started LOL
I used basic grey and soft sky ink and cs and grey taffeta ribbon and have you noticed how the ribbon is.....have you...and how neat it is....YEAH......I tied a JENNY knot LOL.....I sat and played yesterday until I worked out where I was going wrong and it was to do with left over right and under or was that over LOL....that was where I went wrong hee hee......
Anyhow......it worked :)
I distressed the edge of the white layer with this neat tool that looks just like pac-man...I'll have to take a pic....then I pricked around the white layer too....using the mat pack from SU
The pearl brad in the center is from a set by papermania and it matches the soft sky perfectly...

Another Happy Harmony card

Whilst I had the CS and inks out from making previuos card I thought I would make another.
This time I cuttlebugged the white layer with swirl folder and then swiped the perfect plum ink pad over it, the raised embossing picks up the ink beautifully....it looks great using dark CS and a white ink pad...try it.... have fun....experiment !!

Z- Fold Happy Harmony

I decided to have a go at a Z-fold card.

These are really easy to make and very effective as a
*different* card.
I cut a piece of A4 in half lengthways and folded in half.
Fold back the front of the cardand there you have it Z-fold.
Details:-
Perfect plum CS and ink
Sage Shadow CS and ink
Whisper white CS
Stamps.....Happy Harmony and Sanded background
Punches... 1 3/8" circle, 1 1/4" circle and 1" circle
I pricked a circle from the priceless brass stencil then punched with the 1 1/4" circle.
This circle topper is used to keep the card shut by popping a dimensional ( POP dot ) on one half only on the back of the circle.

....I really like this one.

I wanted to do a *Jenny* knot with ends but I really cannot master this...it might be that my fingers are not fully functioning yet but....I was getting really cross with the ribbon !! so I just knotted it without ends LOL

I used rose red and pretty in in pink ink and cs and the polka dots set again....the words were from so many sayings and I used the word window punch...I also used my new copic glitter pen to add highlights to the flower...

Anniversary Card

This card was made ( 11 of them !! ) for a swap on a Yahoo group that I belong to.
It was an ALL OCCASION swap, there were 10 different occasions listed and each player chose 1 occasion to make 11 cards all the same......you send to the hostess ( she keeps 1 for hosting ) and she takes one of each of the occasions cards from each player that joined in and sends 10 back to you.
So I sent in 11 Anniversary cards and will get back 10 different occasion cards which I will show you when I receive them.....
Its a great way to see other peoples takes on occasion cards.....and they come from all over the world.....

Leo waiting for the postie !

This was leo this morning waiting for the postman. He can sense
the postie about 5 mins before he actually arrives....weird...
He loves this position as he can see out the front window...and can see the front door if the lounge door is open.....
He looks like his hair is standing up on his back ( hackles raised )
well it isnt that, he needs a hand strip of his old coat....being done this pm.
I will try and get him to pose after the strip so you can see how neat it makes him look....
